Discarded Nut Theatre Company and The Nutshell, Winchester, are entering an exciting time of expansion and development. We believe that the arts have the power to not only inspire and entertain but also to educate and challenge. We have seen first-hand how the magic of live performance can transform people’s lives, particularly young people, and we know how important the right chemistry within the staffing team is to the character and reputation of an organisation. We now have two exciting opportunities for new graduates who share our vision to join our small, inclusive, and friendly team.

MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP LEADER

We are looking for an enthusiastic, fun, and committed person to plan and deliver fun, creative, and inspiring musical theatre workshops for children aged 4 - 13 from September 2022. These will culminate in June 2023 with a production of well-known and much-loved musical which this year is Shrek Jr. You will need to have strong skills in singing, acting and dance, and lead our younger workshop assistants who support the groups. Workshops take place every Saturday from 9am – 1pm at The Nutshell.

MARKETING & DESIGN ASSISTANT

We are looking for a skilled, insightful, and creative person to assist in the promotion of Discarded Nut and The Nutshell and their activities and services through the design and production of promotional materials and media. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain first-hand experience in areas of design and marketing in the arts working with industry specialist PR and Design companies. This is a part-time position, offering flexible working of two days per week.
